Sorry that there have been no new post for the last two weeks. I have had some unscheduled events and also taken a trip to Gothenburg. But now I’m back and I promise to update more often. As a start I found two new Beauty & the Beast contributions, so here they come.

BEAUTY - A Danish classic by Verner Panton. The Panton chair is a masterpiece, created to show of the beauty and flattering shape that a chair have the ability to posses. [via inmod]

BEAST - A Swedish classic by Carl Malmsten. It’s a functional everyday chair with no specific flair, pieces of wood are just joined together to serve a purpose. I would say that it clearly puts function before design. [via EM Uppsala]

BEAUTY - A modern innovation! This stair is absolutely a major focal point within it’s residence. It does not only serve it’s purpose but does so while bringing an unexpected industrial influence in a high fashion way. [via Lundberg Design]

BEAST - A classic Swedish stair. A functional wooden stair with only minor decorative features. Why settle for something like this? [via SSC]

Today it’s seems that a bed should be so much more than a place to sleep. It should have all the regular qualities of a bed, like to be soft and comfortable but now it shall also be secluded, integrated with light, sound and all kinds of technology. The pod shaped bed seem to be a popular concept with examples like these: the Transport Pod, the German Lomme Bed, the more cubical Hi-Can and the Wave Chaise. The last one aren’t actually a pod, or for that matter a bed but it’s surely is a modern way to combine comfort and relaxation with high technological solutions.

Since my last post, my husband and I have decided to take a trip to Gothenburg for some Christmas shopping. We have talked about taking a quick vacation to Gothenburg for quite some time, but now we have finally made the necessary arrangement and a room has been booked at the First Hotel G. I have no first hand knowledge of this hotel but look forward to staying there because of its fresh and modern look.

I stumble upon this great apartment this afternoon, it’s located in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden. I think that its white interior is absolutely perfect accentuated by the slick modern kitchen and the fabulous rustic brick wall in the bedroom. It’s just sooo nice, and also sooo available right now at Hemnet.se :D

When designing and creating a building, the exterior and interior are the two most obvious focus areas. But the view from the building can also be incorporated as a part of the buildings design. A good example are this luxurious waterfront home which is is located in Surfers Paradise. This property is right now on the market at Ray White.

I promise to be a very good girl and eat all my vegetables…
The Scheisse exploding light bulb, from the Norwegian Northern Lighting, was designed by Hans Bleken Rud and is definitely on the top my Christmas list this year. [via Home Dosh]
